How do I get VISA?
Maldives will be providing a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival to all nationalities.
What if I want to stay longer than 30 days, Can I extend my tourist VISA?
For tourist who may require visa extensions due to quarantine measures will be issued without any further fees. However, tourist visa extension is available to long stay tourists with an additional fee with normal situations.We recommend that you refer to the Maldives Immigration website, your travel agent or the property where you have booked your stay before traveling to the Maldives.
Do I need to quarantine on arrival to Maldives?
You will not be subject to any quarantine measures and will not be required to submit any medical test results for entry upon arrival to Maldives. However, travellers presenting with symptoms of COVID-19 upon arrival will be subjected to a PCR test at the traveler’s cost. Additionally, local health authorities may conduct random testing, at no cost to travellers.
Which form do I need to fill online before arrival?
A health declaration card is required as a part of the on-arrival procedure. This online health declaration form must be filled out by all travellers 24-hours before their arrival. What other documents do I need to show at the immigration?
Tourists must provide confirmed booking of accommodations, such as a hotel voucher.
When can I make a booking to stay in Maldives?
Tourist resorts, liveaboard vessels and hotels located on uninhabited islands are open for bookings starting from July 15, 2020. Guesthouses and hotels located on inhabited islands will be open for bookings starting from August 1, 2020. However, guest houses and hotels located on inhabited islands will be allowed to accommodate transit passengers waiting for domestic transfers under special permits. Transit arrangements can be made through the primary facility where the stay is booked.
What are the requirements for public settings?
Respect all social distancing requirements, and observe a self quarantine if COVID-19 symptoms appear during your stay in Maldives. Masks are required in all public settings, including on public transportation other than the straightforward requirements above, entry into the country appears to be very easy, with no further visas or special requirements needed.
Do I need a COVID-19 test before departure?
Not unless required by onward destination or where necessary. However, testing services are available in Maldives for tourists who require COVID-19 test results to return to their countries of origin or another destination.
Which airlines are going to the Maldives?
Since situation has affected worldwide, there is a limited number of flights available into Maldives main airport Velana International Airport. However, as the situation progresses, more scheduled flights are expected to add routes to the Maldives. Qatar Airways via Doha started from 15th July 2020, as the very first flight after re-opening its International borders to the global travellers. Emirates, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, HongKong Airline, IndiGo, Silk Air, Singapore Airlines, Sri Lankan Airlines, Edelweiss Air, Turkish Airlines are some of the limited airlines scheduled to fly to the Maldives.
Is it possible to travel to Maldives by Private Jets?
Private Jets are allowed not just to the main airport, but to some of the regional airports as well. You can check with your desired tourist resort or your travel agent if they offer such options to travel to the Maldives.

There are variety of options to choose from 26 atolls in Maldives. Maldives boasts some of the planet’s most dreamiest islands, beaches, water and marine life. You are more than welcome to stay at a resort or a liveaboard vessel if you choose to stay from 15th July 2020 onwards. Over 40 resorts among those will be open from 15th July. You are more than welcome to book any one of the local island hotels and guest-houses if you wish to stay from August 1, 2020 onwards.
